Our mini-series of Musical Myths opens with the premiere of a specially adapted version of ‘The Firebird.’  A brand new text, written by Ashley Wass and Matthew Trusler, has been interwoven into the musical score in such a way that the vivid imagery of this thrilling score is brought to life like never before.  Paul Patterson’s score to ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ entertains an all-ages audience from start to finish with its modern sensibilities and its dazzling dramatic flourishes, inspired by Dahl’s famous text.

Musical Myths II  Concert

THE THREE LITTLE PIGS

Text by Roald Dahl, adapted by Donald Sturrock

PETER AND THE WOLF
Music and text by Sergei Prokofiev
Arranged for chamber ensemble by David Matthews

Chris Jarvis, narrator  •  Alissa Firsova, piano  •  LICMF Ensemble

Prokofiev’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’ is one of the most endearingly popular works of the 20th Century, with a collection of famous melodies that will have audiences humming along.  It is partnered here by Paul Patterson's witty accompaniment to Roald Dahl's retelling of ‘The Three Little Pigs’, which will huff, puff and bring the house down!
